Kartikeya Ashram, located in Kankhal, Haridwar was the last residence of 108 Mahant Shri Shankar Bharati, whose efforts in making Manasa Devi (Shakti Peeth) what it is today. Shri Shankar Bharati's name is synonymous with several projects in and around Haridwar.
Mahant Shri Shankar Bharati was the undisputed Adhyaksh (President) of Akhada Parishad for 14 years. He was also the secretary of Panchayati Akhada Shri Niranjani, Maya pur - Haridwar for 35 years. No saint has had a record as strong in any akhadas so far. It was his purpose to be useful to society, his way of showing gratitude to the Divine for all that he received.
Mahant Shri Shankar Bharati was a man of few words, leading a disciplined life, guiding millions and sharing whatever he had freely indiscriminatingly.
Kartikeya Ashram was his home during his last days. In his service during the last days were Shri Swami Jagdeesh Bharati, and Digambar Suresh Bharati.
Now Kartikeya Ashram is managed by Digambar Suresh Bharati, under the able guidance of Shri swami Jagadeesh Bharati.
Kartikeya Ashram offers a platform for the earnest seekers to explore the ancient system of Yoga in an experiential way. We follow several subtle methods of exercising the body-mind complex, thus making the most of all five layers of our existence: Physical, Mental, Emotional, Social, and Spiritual.
We welcome with open hearts those who wish to share from the Parampara (Tradition).
